Small-scale events include EYP Days, Member Weekends, Trainings, and more. They are designed to train new members for official roles and get interested people involved in our organisation.
National Sessions
National Selection Conferences are EYP events that take place to allow the local youth to delve into meaningful and topical debates on a national scale while giving them the chance to participate and grow both personally and academically in a short frame of time.
The National Conference gathers youngsters across the country to prepare them and select the best to represent EYP Albania in international events all over Europe. These events are structured with a day of Officials Training, a day of Team Building, two days of Committee Work, and a day of General Assembly.
International Sessions
International Sessions are the flagship events of the European Youth Parliament. They usually last 9-10 days and feature participants from all 40 National Committees all over Europe. Delegates that represent EYP Albania are chosen from our annual National Selection Conferences.
Another type of International Events are International Forums, which typically last 6-7 days and are hosted National Committees annually. Both of these kinds of events mark the highest point from a delegate's perspective, paving the way for them to become officials in EYP.
What happens at an EYP session?
Official's Training Day
During Official's Training Day, also called CMOJ, an acronym of the Officials' roles (Chairs, Media, Organiser, Jury), the volunteers get to learn from their team leaders through interesting modules and interactive discussions. They get to know one another in person, to be prepared for the following event days.
Team Building
During Teambuilding, the participants get to know and develop bonds with one another through various games and interactive activities that are designed to break the ice and foster a strong group spirit. They get to learn more about their committee topic to get on smoothly with their work on the following days.
Committee Work
During Committee Work, the delegates are confronted with a specific topic. They are encouraged to reflect on all the problems and challenges related to the topic and collaboratively come up with realistic solutions. The final product of their work is a resolution containing all the issues and their respective solutions.
General Assembly
During the General Assembly, each committee presents their resolution in a parliamentary setting. Rounds of debate are held, during which delegates can openly discuss their proposed solutions or hold speeches regarding the topics mentioned in their resolution. At the end, every resolution gets put up to vote.
